Progress Residential Executive Vice President & General Counsel Ama Romaine Earns 2024 Connect CRE: Lawyers in Real Estate Award

Ama Romaine, Executive Vice President & General Counsel at Progress Residential, has been honored with the Connect CRE: Lawyers in Real Estate Award, recognizing her exemplary legal leadership, innovative contributions to the housing industry, and dedication to fostering thriving communities. 

 

Romaine’s work exemplifies how the law can serve as a catalyst for social change, making a lasting impact on both the industry and the communities it serves. Her leadership is instrumental in building more effective relationships with law enforcement and local government officials to combat community blight, preserve affordable housing, and reduce crime. Romaine is a champion of Progress Residential’s expansion of the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program, which saw a 75% increase in participation from 2022 to 2023, helping to ensure underserved residents gain access to quality housing. 

 

Romaine’s influence extends to Progress Residential’s inaugural Safety Summit in Atlanta convening housing experts, law enforcement, and officials to develop actionable solutions for safe, affordable housing. The summit spurred initiatives that are currently underway including a workforce housing pilot for frontline workers and a centralized property registry that would benefit communities and businesses alike.
