Progress Residential is dedicated to expanding access to secure and stable housing in communities of opportunity. As a professional property manager of single-family rental homes, we are committed to setting standards of excellence, so our residents have the best experience possible when they lease one of our homes. The principles that guide our relationship with our residents and communities are outlined below.
Progress Residential Principles
Progress Principles: Our Residents
Safe and Secure Homes
- Clean, safe & functional homes. Every Progress home goes through a process to be “move-in ready,” which means that it will be clean and safe and all major systems will be functional on the day you move in. When repairs are needed, we will strive to address them promptly and keep you informed of our progress along the way.
- Temporary housing. If your home becomes uninhabitable at any time during the term of your lease because of a natural disaster or a mistake we made, we will provide short term temporary accommodations and work with you to find a comparable alternative home as quickly as possible. If we cannot find a home that meets your needs, we will work with you to modify or terminate your lease.
- Clear and timely communication. We know that from time to time you will need assistance with a range of issues related to your home. We are dedicated to communicating openly, responding promptly, and resolving your concerns to the best of our ability.
Stable Housing
- Lease and fee transparency. We know unexpected expenses are stressful. We are committed to clearly disclosing your total cost to rent before you sign or renew your lease. We will not increase your rent without providing notice at least 60 days before the end of your lease term.
- Dignity and respect. Once you join the Progress community, we hope you will choose to stay in the Progress community for many years. We also know that unplanned life events may interfere with your ability to fulfill the terms of your lease. We are committed to treating you with dignity and respect from the moment you come to us to lease a home to the day your lease ends and beyond.
- Fair treatment. We believe everyone deserves a safe place in a thriving community to call home. That’s why, in addition to complying fully with the Fair Housing Act, we adhere to these Progress Residential Principles across all our operations.
- Resident stability. Stable residents are good for communities. If you should find yourself in a changed financial situation that interferes with your ability to afford your lease, we will work with you to find suitable payment alternatives or provide access to resources to avoid, if at all possible, relocation or lease termination.
- Financial health. We recognize good financial health is important for the wellbeing of our residents and our communities. We make free positive rent reporting and financial capability resources available to all residents.
Commitment to Our Community
Thriving Communities
- Community Engagement. Wherever we operate, we commit to engaging with community organizations, local government and other stakeholders to develop community-centered solutions and partnerships, with a focus on affordable housing.
- Good Neighbor. We strive to be good neighbors. This means we will partner with law enforcement, city administrators, homeowners’ associations, and policy makers to expand access to safe and secure housing in thriving communities.
- Local Hires. To support our communities, we prioritize local suppliers and vendors when developing our network of service providers.
